Walton Academy is proud to share their outstanding progress in reading this year!  Mrs. Little, Mr. Cary, and Miss Doggett have worked very hard with our students and the results show it.

The kindergarten class began using Accelerated Reader in February 2018. At that time, the average grade equivalency of the students was 0.7 (kindergarten / 7th month).  At the end of the school year, the average grade equivalency was 1.9 (first grade / ninth month).  That’s an average increase of one year and two months in only three months!

• The first grade began the year in August with an average grade equivalency of 1.8 (first grade / eighth month). They finished the year with an average grade equivalency of 3.7 (third grade / seventh month).  That’s an average increase of one year and 9 months!
• The second grade began in August with an average grade equivalency of 3.2 (third grade / second month).  They finished the year with an average grade equivalency of 5.3 (fifth grade / third month) for an average increase of 2 years and one month!
